When deadlines are tight and safety is non-negotiable, commercial scaffolding needs to work as hard as your team does. Whether it’s an office block, shopping centre or school extension, Byron Bay Scaffold delivers secure, compliant scaffold systems that support multi-trade access across every stage of the build. Our team works on a wide range of commercial projects throughout Northern Rivers, the Tweed Region and South East Queensland, handling everything from design to dismantling the site.
We tailor every system to suit the structure, site conditions and access needs, helping contractors work efficiently while reducing delays and downtime. With hoists, stair towers, edge protection and barrier screens included as needed, you can keep your team productive without compromising on safety.

Safe, Scalable Access That Works
Commercial projects are often high-pressure environments — with tight timelines, overlapping trades and changing site demands. That’s why scaffold design, installation and compliance must be handled with accuracy and foresight. We provide scaffold systems that keep large, fast-moving projects on track while supporting trade safety at every height.
- Adaptable Design: Every scaffold system is configured to suit the site's layout, including rooflines, multi-storey access points, and service zones.
- Multiple Trade Use: Scaffold structures are installed to accommodate painters, electricians, builders and more without interrupting workflow.
- Safety Compliant: All setups include edge protection, guardrails, tie-ins and fall prevention in line with the latest codes and standards.
- Efficient Access: We include temporary staircases, cantilevered hoists and rubbish chutes to streamline movement and reduce site congestion.
No matter the project size or complexity, effective commercial scaffolding provides confidence for both site managers and tradies — allowing everyone to focus on getting the job done safely.
What height does commercial scaffolding need to be?
The height of commercial scaffolding depends entirely on the structure being worked on and the reach required for safe access. Most scaffolding is built in 2-metre increments and adjusted as needed to meet each job’s working height. Factors like roof pitch, façade design, and the presence of awnings or ledges can also impact the final height.
What qualifications are needed to install commercial scaffolding?
Any scaffold over 4 metres in height is classified as high-risk and must be erected by a licensed scaffolder holding a current High Risk Work Licence for scaffolding (basic, intermediate or advanced level). Installers must also follow WHS regulations and be familiar with working at height procedures and equipment.
Can scaffolding be used in poor weather?
Scaffolding can remain in place during poor weather, but use may be restricted during high winds or storms for safety. It’s critical to secure the structure properly and install weather-resistant features like debris netting or containment screens. Regular inspections should be carried out after adverse weather to ensure safety and stability.
